Kevin Patrick George
September 13th, 1966 - December 25th, 2023
Kevin Patrick George (57) passed away at his home in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on December 26, 2023. His sudden, unexpected, and tragic death was caused by an undetected, pulmonary thromboembolism. Kevin, a beloved son of Judy (Wade) and Gary George was born on September13, 1966 also in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He is survived by his parents, brother Tim George, Tim’s wife Nancy, and nieces Keilani and Kaley. Preceding Kevin in death were maternal grandparents Kathryn and Michael Wade, and paternal grandparents Audrey and Raymond George. Kevin graduated from Wheat Ridge High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Metropolitan State University at Denver, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Hartford campus in Paris, France. He worked in the family business starting in high school, and then went on to a career in tax preparation. Kevin was blessed with a brilliant mind, an incredible memory, a quick wit, and sense of humor. He thoroughly enjoyed reading on a wide range of subjects and music—remembering enormous amounts of lines from books and lyrics from songs—especially rock and roll. Walking regularly on the Wheat Ridge Greenbelt and enjoying the change of seasons was another favorite pastime. He treasured his friends, loved all the family dogs, and enjoyed spending time with both. Memories and thoughts from family and close friends help reveal how special this very private, caring, and sensitive person was. From his brother Tim, “Since moving to Arizona 20+ years ago, Kevin was one of my North Stars; always there but not here. We had many discussions on how to solve the worlds and our own problems, conversations of accomplishments, and just time catching up. I will miss my North Star, but in my heart I know he is still always there for me, just not here with me.” From a very special lady friend, “We never had dates, we had adventures. He called it “planned spontaneity.” We bonded over our love of music. He was kind and attentive, and full of life and love. We always said it felt like we’d known each other all our lives. He made me laugh every day. We had some of the best conversations during our 3 hour dinners.” From long-term friends, Everitt Junior High to the present, “Kevin loved his 1st car, an MGB, was like an old friend— teaching friends how to drive a stick shift. He loved haunted houses, a corn maze, pumpkin patches, and all fall activities, road trips around Colorado, local amusement parks, the Carousel in Kit Carson, local fairs with lights, games, and carnival foods. Kevin had a lifelong passion and gift for the art of photography, and taking friends out on adventures to teach you the art. A great guy, who was always there for his friends, helping with moves, car repair, even to assemble furniture, was delighted to help a very, very special young man to earn his Boy Scout Eagle—and much, much more.” Now the best from Kevin himself: How I would like to be remembered: I would like to be remembered as having a sense of humor, I was usually laughing yet I was also quite mellow. Generally I was consistent in the end, sometimes I got angry, but not often. I was also a rather private person. I usually didn’t “open up” to anybody unless I felt I could trust them. Along these lines I was also rather shy, always have been. I was also a bit contradictory, and I was a real cheapskate, but I had very expensive taste. At many times I would put things off, partially out of laziness, or in my own words, “I work better under pressure.” I also tried to be very logical about everything. I tried not to let anything interfere with my reasoning. Finally, that I was rather kind and gentle even if I didn’t show it much. Along with this I was fairly sensitive, so I occasionally put walls between myself and the world. I simply wouldn’t let anybody get to me. Overall I was a nice guy, honest, loyal, etc…” Kevin requested a private celebration of life with close family and friends.
