Kevin Gutierrez

Kevin "Josue" Gutierrez, born May 27, 2005, passed away on October 16, 2023 after a long, brave fight with depression. Josue was born in Honduras to Jose Gutierrez and Isabel Arita and moved to the United States when he was 14 years old. Once in the United States, he lived in Texas, Maryland, and most recently, VA. He was a high school senior, attending school in Chantilly, VA. Josue was a very gifted artist. He could do amazing things with a pencil and a piece of paper and enjoyed sketching portraits and various other drawings as the mood struck him. He also enjoyed painting nature paintings with watercolor. When given the chance, Josue loved adventure and was always eager to go on an adventurous hike or ride a new roller coaster. His best days were snowy days. The cold and calm brought him peace and joy. There was no doubt, though, that his favorite outdoor activity was rollerblading. He also looked forward to spending time with his sister and niece every week and curling up with a good book. Josue will forever be remembered as kind hearted and gentle. His smile was pure, as was his heart. It was easy to be drawn to his sweet disposition. Josue is survived by his parents, Jose Gutierrez of Austin, TX and Isabel Arita of Honduras, his siblings, Kimberly Gutierrez, Isaac Gutierrez, and Jensy Arita, and his niece, Riley Arita.
