Kevin Michael Russell
October 16th, 1958 - March 31st, 2003
" Kevin M. Russell, 44, of Sterling Rd, died Sunday in Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Born in Belchertown, October 26, 2958, he was a graduate of Belchertown High School and also attended Pathfinder Vocational School. He lived in Palmer and Belchertown for many years before moving to Florence 2 years ago. He recently worked for UMASS for a brief time. Kevin spent most of his working career as a residential and vocational direct care counselor, both at the former Belchertown State School for 16 years, and also for Shelton’s. He was presented the Ten Year Service Award from Belchertown State School, and loved motorcycles, fishing and working out. Kevin is survived by his wife, Jean Parmenter Russell, a daughter Candace Russell at home, 2 step sons, Joseph Parmenter of Belchertown, and Michael Parmenter at home, along with a step daughter Kristen Parmenter at home. Kevin also leaves his step mother Eileen (Flebut) Russell of Belchertown, 2 sisters Kathy and her husband Eddie Jenks of Chicopee, and Diane Russell of Pittsfield, along with a brother Leonard and his wife Diane Russell of Belchertown. He was predeceased by a brother Robert, Jr. and 2 sisters Karen and Constance. A funeral service will be Wed. at 11:00 a.m. in the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, followed by burial in South Cemetery. A calling hour will be Wed. from 10:00—11:00 a.m. At the family’s request, please omit flowers and make donations in his memory to the Kevin Russell Family Fund, c/o Florence Savings Bank, 85 Main St, Florence, 01062. "
