Kevin Allen Williams

April 7, 1962 – August 2, 2024

Kevin Allen Williams, 62, of Chico, CA, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 2, 2024.

Kevin was born to Carl and Martha Jane Williams in Indiana on April 7, 1962, the eighth of ten brothers and sisters. He trusted Christ as his Savior at the age of 14 in July 1976 and answered the call to preach at the age of 17. After high school, he began attending Hyles-Anderson College where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Theology. More important than the degree he received at college, he met the love of his life, Kathrine Kolosick. They would later marry on June 30, 1985.

They both began their lives and ministry at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church where he served as a teacher and interim Pastor. Once Pastor Tim Ruhl took the church, Kevin followed God’s leading to serve as assistant Pastor of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Marion, Iowa for twelve and a half years. They would return to Chico in 2000 where he served on staff at Pleasant Valley until 2005. He then took a position at FedEx, but his heart remained with his ministry and outreach. No matter where he was, Kevin would always impact the lives of the people around him.

He loved preaching. He loved singing. He loved teaching kids. He loved telling jokes. He loved performing magic tricks. He loved fishing. He loved playing basketball. He loved his family. He loved his wife. He loved his kids. He REALLY loved his grandkids (Carter, Remington, Kimber, Maggie, Dakota, Manasseh, Benjamin, Zachariah, Joanna, Adalyn, and Lauryn).

Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathrine, who passed away in October 2023. They celebrated 39 years of marriage in June of 2023. He is survived by his children, Kelli Koehn (38), Kami Worthington (35), and Kip Williams (34). He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Williams; his mother, Martha Jane Williams; his brother Harold Williams; and his sister, Judy Marrs Dillon. He is survived by his sister Margaret (Peg) Williams Myers; his brother Robert Marrs; his brother Mark Williams; his sister, Patricia Hastings; his brother, Brian Williams; his brother, Larry Williams; and his sister, Lia Williams Wallner.

Kevin will be remembered as a dedicated Christian, a loving husband, an amazing father and an outstanding “Papa”. Kevin’s legacy of faithfulness, loyalty, genuine love and hard work will continue to inspire all who had the privilege know him. A Memorial service will be held at 2p.m. on Friday, August 30,2024 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Chico.
