The Island Funeral Home & Crematory
Kristina Jurate Lamb
June 28th, 1951 - May 10th, 2023
Kristina Jurate Lamb died peacefully in her home, in the presence of her family on May 10, 2023 on Hilton Head Island. She was 71. Kristina was born on June 28, 1951 in Brooklyn, NY to her parents Antanas and Eugenia Azelis. She graduated from John Carroll University with a degree in Fine Arts in 1972; and a degree in Fine Arts from Cooper School of Arts in 1973. She married Terry Lamb on December 29, 1973. They lived in West Bloomfield, Michigan until 2013, when they retired and moved to Hilton Head Island. Kristina was an award-winning artist and longstanding member of the Lawrence Street Gallery in Pontiac, MI. Her watercolor, pastel, and mixed-media works of art decorate municipal buildings, schools, her family’s and friend’s homes. Similar to the joy and inspiration she infused into each of her encounters, her artwork tells a story of a life lived with intense passion, grace, and beauty. Her magnificent spirit carries on in the wildflowers, willow trees, and the warmth of a blazing autumn fire. Kristina was an investment-savvy property manager, homemaker, and force to be reckoned with at the net on the tennis court. She loved music, dancing, long walks on the beach, and cotton-candy sunsets. Kristina is survived by her husband Terry Lamb, of Hilton Head Island, SC; her son Jonas Lamb, of Juneau, AK; her daughter Lauren Kinsley, of Fairfield, CT; her son Kevin Alan Lamb, of Oxford, MI; her brother Leonas Azelis, of Cleveland, OH; and her four grandchildren. Kristina is preceded in death by her brother Arunas Azelis, and his wife Patty. A wake will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at The Island Funeral Home between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. All are welcome. The Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 7 at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church at 10 a.m. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following at the St. Francis by the Sea Family Center. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to “MUSC Foundation” and sent to: MUSC Foundation, 18 Bee Street / MSC 450 / Charleston, SC 29425. Please write “Lung Transplant Support Fund #04759” in the memo line, along with “In memory of Kristina Azelis Lamb”. Donations can be made online at: https://tinyurl.com/KristinaAzelisLamb.
