Kris Curtis, 70, of Jefferson, Wisconsin passed away on August 9, 2024, at Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville, Wisconsin. She was born on May 31, 1954, in Sparta, Wisconsin, to Daniel and Carole (Stoll) Hutchison.
Raised in Ontario, Wisconsin, Kris treasured the simple joys of her childhood and held her family and friends close to her heart. After graduating from Brookwood High School in 1972, she embarked on a career as a legal secretary. On May 19, 1979, she married Michael Curtis, and together they made their home in Jefferson, where Kris continued her career as a legal secretary for 46 years. The couple was blessed with a son, Joshua.
Kris was a devoted fan of the Milwaukee Bucks and Green Bay Packers. She was also a long-standing, faithful member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emma.
Kris is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Michael Curtis; their son Joshua (Lauren) of Viroqua; her cherished granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emma; her two sisters, Barbara (Bob) Clements of Cashton and Kathleen Schroeder of Madison; her sister-in-law, Ruth Hutchison of Shreveport, Louisiana; her adored Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Jackson “Jack”; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Daniel Hutchison; and her sister, Susan Hutchison.
