Lamont J Richardson

LAMONT J RICHARDSON, 75 of Land O Lakes, FL was welcomed   to his Heavenly  home on Saturday, October 12. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy and 3 children, Jason Richardson and wife Nicole, Kerri Cook and husband Brett, and Joanna Adamson and husband Robert; 

8 precious grandchildren, Olivia and husband Connor Barnes, Cassidy and husband Spencer, Logan Richardson, Kiley Cook, Carson Cook, Gabriel Adamson, Samuel Adamson, and Zachary Adamson; and his sister, Linda Richardson.

Lamont served in the US Navy from 1968 to 1972. He was stationed first in Norfolk, VA and then at the Philadelphia Naval Base.  He served on the USS Lowry as Leading Radarman during that time.

Lamont was a dedicated  husband and father, dearly beloved by his family. He loved the outdoors and was an avid woodworker and wood carver.  He was always working on something, whether it be his home, vehicle or camper.  He was a generous man with his time and finances, never failing to help a neighbor and support his church.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Land O Lakes, Florida and a third degree Mason who loved the fellowship of his brothers.  He was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star so he could spend more time with his wife, and served there as an Officer for several years.. 

He worked at a variety of jobs before becoming a Registered Nurse where he specialized in the care of Spinal Cord Injuries at James A Haley Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Lamont will be remembered for his hard work, quick wit, and his devotion to his wife and family.  But most of all his commitment to His Heavenly Father, always thanking and praising Him for the blessed life he lived.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Land O Lakes, Florida on Saturday, November 2 at 2:00 p.m.
