Lance Purdy
June 10th, 1967 - January 1st, 2020
Lance M. Purdy, age 52, of Pine Grove, CA, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. He was born in Roseville, CA on June 10, 1967 to Frank W. Purdy Jr. and the late Bonna (Millward) Purdy. Lance Purdy loved his family, the outdoors, and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Lance spent most of his career working in private timber industry. He enjoyed music, working on house projects, and sharing his love for hiking and sailing with others. Lance grew up in Manteca and earned degrees from Humboldt State University and his MBA from Cal Poly. He and his wife, Patricia, were married for 25 years and they have 2 children, Sean (20) and Morgan (17). He has lived in Pine Grove for 17 years and was a member of the Sutter Creek Church of the Nazarene. A great day for Lance would consist of hiking a trail or skiing a mountain with Patricia and Morgan, racing a sailboat on the SF Bay, or speeding around a track in his red mustang. A great evening for Lance would be lying on the couch, cat on his chest, watching Game of Thrones. Lance was greatly loved and his passionate view of the world will always be remembered. Lance is survived by his wife, Patricia L. (Kamps) Purdy; daughter, Morgan R. Purdy, of Pine Grove, CA; and son, Sean P. Purdy, of Santa Clara, CA. He is preceded in death by his mother, Bonna Purdy; and brother, Kirk Purdy. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life at Sutter Creek Church of the Nazarene in Sutter Creek, CA at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 25, 2020. Memorial Contributions in his name may be made to the Sutter Creek Nazarene Youth Group via www.scnaz.org, or to A-PAL, P.O. Box 190, Jackson, CA, 95642, pawparnters.org.
