Larraine Fredericka Jackson

July 10th, 1949 - April 29th, 2024

Larraine Jackson, 74, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away on April 29, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on July 10, 1949, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to Pyrenne and Frederick Zimsen, Larraine moved with her family to Australia during her teenage years. It was there, in Melbourne, Victoria, that she met and married the love of her life, Thomas Jackson, in 1972. Together they built a life filled with love, raising their two children, David and Sarah.

Larraine's artistic talents were evident in everything she touched, from her beautiful paintings to her exquisite cakes, and she will be forever remembered for her ageless beauty, gentle demeanor, and, notably, her amazing curries.

After retiring in Arizona, Larraine enjoyed her time surrounded by family—her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and her sweet kitty, Sammy. Her presence was a blessing to all who knew her.

Larraine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Tom, and her parents, Frederick and Pyrenne Zimsen. She leaves behind a loving family: her son, David Jackson; her daughter, Sarah Jackson; daughter-in-law, Nature Jackson; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her siblings, Cliff [Iris] Zimsen, Yolanda [Jorg] Philipps, Ingrid [Doug] Tozer, Shereen [Glenn] Tippett, and Debbie [Mick] Hogan; and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

A service to celebrate Larraine's life will be held at Radiant Church in Surprise, AZ, on May 7, 2024, at 11:30 AM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Cancer Fighters, an organization that was close to Larraine's heart.

Larraine's legacy of family, love, art, and culinary excellence will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed.
