Larry Eugene Baggett
August 1st, 1947 - October 14th, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry E. Baggett, a devoted husband to Alice for 56 years. He was a loving father, and grandfather who left us peacefully on October 14, 2024 at the age of 77.
Born on August 1, 1947, Larry Baggett was the proud father of three children: Mark Baggett (Heather), Joyce Thompson (Ben) and Richard Baggett (Dawn) and the beloved grandfather of seven grandchildren: Luke Baggett, Burton Baggett. Danielle Baggett, Matthew Embrey, Andrew Baggett, Jacob Embrey and Oren Thompson.
He was a constant source of love, wisdom, and encouragement in their lives, always offering a helping hand or a comforting word when it was needed most. He was preceded in death by his parents Milton and Martha Baggett and his sister, Beverly Wild. Larry worked for Verizon, formerly Bell Atlantic and C & P Telephone, for 50 years with a break only to serve his country in the United States Army. He was a man of great kindness, strength, and compassion. He found joy in researching his family and Southern Maryland history and genealogy documenting over 200K names in his ancestry family tree.
A pillar of his family, he taught his children and grandchildren the importance of love, hard work, and generosity. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 10 a.m on November 23, 2024 at New Life Church in La Plata, Maryland. Rest in peace, Larry Baggett. You will be forever loved and never forgotten.
