Larry E. Boling Sr (Big Larry) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico formely of Santa Fe born on February 23, 1950 in Artesia New Mexico passed away on January 6, 2021 at 7:25pm. Big passed away while in compassion care at the VA Hospice Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico from end stage renal failure that he fought for the last few years by changing everything in his life and going to dialysis 3 times per week. (NON-COVID) Big lived his life on his terms and he died the same way. He lived a fast life after he returned from Vietnam. He loved everything that had an engine and could go fast. He raced top-fuel drag bikes and passed on his love for the sport to his son Larry Jr. He loved the LA Lakers and the Denver Broncos. Big and Mikey would "argue" over sharing snacks and who got what. He loved food especially gumbo, chips, fried chicken, cheeseburgers with chile, peanuts, donuts, sweets, popcorn and sodas. Big was a 100% disabled Army Vietnam Veteran. He retired from the New Mexico Gas Company after he suffered extensive injuries resulting from a motorcycle accident. He loved talking to EVERYONE especially at the VA hospital. He hated that the windows on his truck were tinted because he wasn't "seen". He absolutely had to be the #1 person in everyone's life and if he wasn't he would sure make a fuss. He would constantly fuss over getting his license back and going for a ride to the mountains. Big reconnected with his daughter Lillie the last few years which he absolutely loved and truly tried to make amends (in his way). Big was fortunate to have been able to spend quality time with Lil Larry and his grandson Xavier. He formed an extremely strong bond with his great grandson Mikey and his momma Christina. Jamie was his constant caregiver and biggest advocate in all areas of his life and care. He gave her more gray hair than her kids yet she is thankful for the time she spent with him (no matter how trying he could be or the amount of tears shed). Preceded in death by grandparents; Armond Boling Sr and Viola Boling. Parents; Armond Boling Jr and step mother Nellie Boling. Aunt Velma & Uncle Brown Carter of Elton, Louisiana who raised him. Daughter Keisha Boling. Sister Suetta Boling Survived by his daughter Lillie (Eric) Boutte of Lake Charles, Louisiana. His son Larry E. Boling Jr (Jamie) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. His grandchildren/Great Grandchildren Carrington (Stephanie) Sherman and children Arianna Sherman (Lake Charles, LA), Caylee Sherman and Carrington Sherman of Cypress, Texas. Lierica (Carroll) Akins of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Eric Boutte II, of Houston, Texas. Kaitlynn Boling and daughter of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Christina Boling and son Michael Ayden Anaya of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Xavier Boling, Active Duty Army, wife Sheyenne and daughter Avrielle. Keisha Boling's (deceased) children Lil Anthony and Lina from Santa Fe, New Mexico. His siblings: brother; Joe Boling Jr of Pojoaque, sisters; Teresa Boling-Carson (Ken) of Albuquerque, Angie Boling-Brown (Earlie) of Santa Fe, and Barbara Boling of Santa Fe, Frances Martinez of Rio En Medio, Shirley Boling Randle of Crosby, Texas.
