Larry R. Griffin, 76, died on the early morning of June 16, 2021 at home in Irmo, SC with loved ones by his side. Larry was born to Nancy and Everette Griffin in Indian Land, SC on January 25, 1945. He grew up a proud South Carolinian in Indian Land and Fort Mill, SC. He graduated from Fort Mill High School. He would go on to attend several universities including Clemson, Winthrop, Ohio, and University of South Carolina. He earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees. He also proudly served in the United States Air Force in the Vietnam era. Larry later went on to become a passionate addictions counselor. He was so proud of the many lives he was able to touch throughout his professional career. He was an avid reader, historian, genealogist, and dog lover. He loved his family very much. Larry is survived by his wife Kelly, son Patrick (Kaitlyn), stepson Jordan (Colby), sisters Kathy Rushing (Gil) Janice Long (Bobby), adored grandchildren Maddux and Emma, and his beloved pup, Addy. All are missing him terribly. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Donations may be made to his favorite animal rescue, Pets Inc. of West Columbia, SC.
