We've all lost a great friend. Never a dull moment with Larry. There's not enough time to tell all the stories of growing up and the fun times we had when we all got older. None of us would have changed a thing and our lives wouldn't have been as good. You'll be dearly missed my friend. RIP Larry!

Larry and I became friends in January 1984 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Larry was a special friend back in the day and we were part of a close knit group of friends who started our careers together at Kelly AFB. We were young and we all enjoyed many adventures in San Antonio. I will fondly remember Larry for his kindness and caring friendship and the laughter he brought to all of us. May God be with his family and friends during this time of sorrow. God's blessings.

I want to offer my condolences to Larry's family and friends, and to let y'all know how much his presence in my life meant to me during my road days as a musician--playing in a band out of Dayton called Blue Max. Larry was our sound man, and was an integral part of our family. Without his sense of humor and frequent shenanigans, we may never have survived the long tour. He will be sorely missed by all of us. Sending you Larry lots of kisses for your journey. I will be posting photos taken of Larry during our tour days, to show just how wonderfully charming and humorous our precious sound man was.

I will miss Larry's contagious laugh and zest for life. We saw him in Orlando in December and had a wonderful evening reminiscing and laughing. He was a great friend, godfather to our daughter Monica, and brother to my husband, Albert. We will always love you.

Our family has suffered an immeasurable loss with the passing of our lifelong friend. Larry was a wonderful friend, son, and uncle. He was a man of integrity. Thank you, my brother, for all of the memories. Whether sound mixing a live Eagles' concert or playing pingpong, Larry gave it everything he had. It was an honor to be a part of his life. Thanks for everything-the friendship, the humor, the vacations, the encouragement, the help, the holiday celebrations, the example you set,all of it. Rest in peace my brother. Gary Hill

I was sorry to hear of Larry's passing, my condolences go out to Larry's family and friends. I met Larry in '84 when we both worked in the Pricing Division at Kelly Air Force Base. I've often told people that Larry had the most interesting resume in contracting. Number-crunchers don't generally work their way up from Minor League Baseball and soundman to rock stars to negotiating contracts for spare airplane parts... while moonlighting as Buzz Lightyear. I'll miss Larry's sense of fun and adventure, but mostly his friendship and caring. He was one of a kind, and I consider our friendship one of the best things to come out of my time at KAFB.

Larry soundmixing a live Eagles concert - September 4, 1972 Posted: February 7, 2014 | Last Revised: February 7, 2014 We had done the sound and opened for the Eagles in Cincy 2 weeks prior to this show in Dayton. In the middle of the concert, Glen Frey told the audience "We used this sound system a couple of weeks ago. There's a different guy running it tonight (Larry), and he's doing a great job!" Even a perfectionist superstar like Glen appreciated Larry. He was a great sound engineer, a natural. Mitch Mitchell,Jimi Hendrix drummer, also raved about Larry and our sound. He also had Cheech & Chong laughing at his antics, just as he kept all of us laughing all of these years. He was a competitor; if you played him in pingpong, basketball, baseball, pool, whatever, he'd probably beat you, because he could. He was the best friend we could ever ask for, and somehow Gary Martin and I (and everyone else who loved him)must go on. Gary

The loss of Larry is devastating to his family, friends, peers, and everyone else that he touched base with. And he will be dearly missed by all. He helped everyone; caring for his parents, aiding friends in need, providing advice to coworkers or simply helping someone in a jam. He touched many people with kindness and understanding. Larry was a forgiving man; if you owned up to your fault he'd forgive you and then carry on the friendship. Larry was a jokester - he liked to laugh and enjoy fun things like Halloween and Christmas - never losing that little kid in him. I will miss that smile and laughter the most - it made life easier to cope with. Larry was my friend, always will be and I will never forget him. Brad
