Larry Leroy Hoover
June 2nd, 1962 - January 30th, 2008
On January 30, 2008 Larry Leroy Hoover Jr. quietly left all who loved him to be with his Lord. He was born on June 2, 1962 in Orange, California to Larry and Karen Hoover. In 1975 Larry and his family moved to Magalia. He attended Paradise High, class on 1980. He worked for over twenty years with Circus Circus Enterprises in Reno and Las Vegas as a supervisor of group sales at the Luxor and Monte Carlo. He moved back to California in 2000. He earned a certificate of graduation from The Well Ministry of Rescue in 2005 and later earned four certificates in addiction, which brought him to be a certified Substance Abuse Counselor in 2006. He loved being a son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. His passions were working outdoors, taking pictures, going on the houseboat, camping, reading, his family, music, quoting movies and the Bible, laughing and life itself. He was easy to talk to and would do anything for anyone at anytime. He always had a saying for everything, but the one that he used the most was, "No matter where you go, there you are." He could get you to laugh no matter what kind of mood you were in. In 1988, Larry was diagnosed with Pleomorphic Rhabdamyo Sarcoma and endured several treatments of Adrianmycian (known as the "red Devil") and Sysplatin, also radiation treatment. On completion of the treatments and being told his cancer was terminal, he fought it and went into remission and was cancer free ever since then. He is survived by his loving parents; Karen and Thomas Van Wagner of Magalia and Larry and Trish Hoover of Sandpoint, Idaho; loving sisters, Cindy Hoover of Paradise; Christina Lee of Magalia, and Tamra Fisher of Paradise; his nephews, K.K. Jr., David Jr., Brayden, Tyler, Bodhi, and Drake; his nieces, Makaela, Alissa, Trista and Hanna. Larry's niece, Brenner Claeton, preceded her uncle and greeted him in Heaven. A memorial service will be held at Magalia Pines Baptist Church, 14098 Skyway, Magalia, CA 95954 at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2008. God's finger touched him, and he slept. -Alfred Lord Tennyson
