Larry Miller
February 28th, 1941 - November 27th, 2013
My Life Story Larry Bruce Miller, 72 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at a Boise care facility. He was born in Boise on February 28, 1941 to Henry W. Miller and Elizabeth “Betty” Miller. He graduated from Borah High School and received his A.A. degree from Boise Junior College as a machinist in 1962. He was a member of the 1959-63 Statesman Band as their bass musician. He worked for Yankee Machine Shop and Selkirk for many years as a tool and die machinist retiring in 2011. He was involved in the Elks, Boise Jaycees, and Wright Community Congregational Church as a young man. He spent many years at Lowman as a child because his parents owned the Lowman Inn Resort. Later he helped develop Miller’s Pinewood Estates at Lowman and spent summers with his family camping, hunting and fishing there and at McCall, Warm Lake, Redfish and other favorite fishing, hunting, and camping spots. He had a great love for the outdoors his entire life. He traveled to many states as well as Mexico, Spain, and Japan. He spent the last two winters at Echo Bay on Lake Mead. He was never impressed with new technology, but was content with a lantern, fire pit, T-bone steak, his fishing pole and his best friend, Sammy, his beloved cat. He is survived by his son, David Miller; daughter, Julianne (Jason) Nye, and his two grandchildren: Nathan and Kristy Nye. He is also survived by his sister, Lynda (Ron) Hall of Meridian and their three children: Ronda (Chuck) Baines and family from Fruitland; Gary (Kellie) Hall and family from Meridian and Celeste (Mike) Evans and family from Boise. His parents, Henry and Betty Miller, preceded him in death. Larry’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, December 7 at 10:00 AM at the Wright Community Congregational United Church of Christ, 4821 Franklin Road, Boise. Rev. Cynthia Brandt will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Idaho Muscular Dystrophy Association, Lowman Idaho Rescue and Fire Department, or your favorite charity. We Entrusted Larry Miller's Care To
Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
