Larry Reed
August 26th, 1934 - January 31st, 2015
Larry Reed, age 80, passed away in his home in Pioneer, CA surrounded by family on January 31, 2015. He was born August 26, 1934 in Huntington Park, CA. He was adopted by William Lafayette and Mildred Augusta Savidge Reed. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy serving on the USS Bugara (SS-331) submarine during the Korean War. Larry graduated from the University Of Southern California School Of Pharmacy in 1961 and worked as a pharmacy owner and manager throughout California until his retirement in 2004. Larry founded the Wood Angels, a group of men and women who cut, split, and deliver free wood to seniors in need of firewood. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Sharon and his four daughters: Debra (Robert) of Sonora, Chris (Bob) of Sacramento, Karen (Al) of Loma Rica, and Laura (David) of Carlsbad, CA, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of life will be at Church at The Cross, 21895 Homestead Road, Pine Grove, CA, on Thursday, February 19th, 2015.at 11:00am. Interment will be on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 1:30pm at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wood Angels and or Ralph Vogel, c/o Guys Saw Center, 19965 State Hwy 88, Pine Grove, CA 95665 or The Church at The Cross, 21895 Homestead Road, Pine Grove, CA 95665. .
