Larry Rogers, of Kingsport, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus (October 16, 2015) at Indian Path Medical Center. Born in Kingsport, he has lived in this area all his life. He was a truck driver for Mason- Dixon and was owner/ operator of Riveredge Housing. He was a member of Homeland Baptist Church. Larry loved to camp and fish and watch the Western channel. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Larry had a huge heart for people, giving of himself in any way he could to others. He loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart. He always said, "The Lord had been so good to him." He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Valarie Rogers; son, Chris Rogers; two brothers, Mike and Rick Rogers and one sister, Beverly Cole. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Gaye Rogers; two daughters, Cindy Haynes and husband Joe and Rachel Puckett and husband Shannon; seven grandchildren, Mallory and Lauren Rogers, Isaac and Josh Puckett and Heather, Matt and Maylee Haynes; four great grandchildren, Chris, Josiah Eli and Olivia; sister, Charlene Weaver and husband Ralph; sister in law, Janet Johnson and husband Jerry; one very special niece and nephew, Monica and David Lawson; several nieces and nephews; mother of his children, Lula Rogers; special friends, Paul Carter and Garnie Snavely. Special thanks should go to all the staff of Mountain States Home Health, Indian Path Medical Center (especially his buddy and friend), Dr. Brandon Moore, Fire Station #5 and the Sullivan County EMS for their tireless care of Larry. The family will receive friends from 12:30- 2:30pm Sunday (October 18th, 2015) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. A service will follow at 2:30pm with Pastor J.W. Depew officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Lawson, Aaron Ketron, Matt Haynes, Shannon Puckett, Isaac Puckett, Josh Puckett and Joe Haynes Jr. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport is serving the Rogers family.
