Mementos

Passed away, August 25th 2021, in his sleep after spending the day with his family. He is survived by his wife Elaine Aamodt/Graham, son Peter, daughter Katherine, nephews Doug and Steve and extended family. His Father immigrated from Norway, in 1889. He was the youngest of 4 boys and 2 girls to be born in Mist Oregon, on November 7th 1922. In 1930 the family moved to Hubbard Oregon, merging farms with an uncle. He attended Ninety One grade school, when it was still a one room school located at Barlow and Barnards. Graduating from Canby Union High School in 1940, a member of the FFA. In 1942 he traveled to Chicago to be trained as a certified welder at Forney. After his brother Laurence was killed at the Portland Keiser Shipyards, he returned home to the farm. A lifetime of involvement with Zoar Lutheran Church. A member of the Nightly One School Board for 12 yrs. One of the Founding Members and Board of Directors of Hope Village. Involved with the Highschool Boosters with Construction and Maintaince issues. Involved with Mist Oregon Pioneer Historical Events. Always a welcoming smile, a willingness to help out various volunteer projects. The Funeral will be September 4th at 11:00 at Zoar Lutheran Church, Canby Oregon, with luncheon to follow. Following the luncheon, internment will be at the Miller Cemetery, Hwy 213 Silverton Oregon.
