Flahiff Funeral Chapels & Crematory-Caldwell
Launie "Batt" Ann Youlden
February 29th, 1940 - November 23rd, 2012
Our wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Launie A. Youlden left her earthly home on Friday, November 23, 2012, to be with her Heavenly Father. At the age of 72 she passed away peacefully at home with her husband Roger Youlden and children at her side. Launie was born in Nampa, Idaho to her mother Juanita Cloninger. She continued to live in the Treasure Valley for the rest of her life. She was born on February 29, 1940 “a leap year baby.” Launie and her family always joked she was still just a teenager. Launie and Roger were married on September 8, 1992 and lived on the Caldwell farm for 22 years. Launie’s passion was spending time with her family, hunting and fishing in the outdoors. She was a very successful businesswoman, at first owning Batt-O-Hobby, which entailed raising, showing and selling Persian Cats, winning numerous awards. In 1977, Launie earned an Interior Decorating degree and spent time as a cosmetologist. She then created a wholesale design and potpourri business, Sweet Piggy Potpourri and Accessories. She ran this business with such love and creativity with showrooms throughout the United States, while at the same time running Atlas Farms. Launie then decided to change directions and run Kut Rite Lawn Services with her husband Roger. Launie was admired and respected throughout the community. Launie leaves her wonderful husband of 20 years, Roger Youlden, and a legacy of 5 children, 3 sons: Jerry (Carla) Spath, Larry (Michele) Spath, Richard (Debbie) Spath; two daughters: Katherine Batt (Nick Helfrich), and Loraine-Lori Batt; two stepsons: Ed and Ken Batt and their families. Grandchildren Whitney, Trey, Cody, Beau, Tanner, Madison, and Odessa and 3 great-grandchildren. Her brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Dorothy Cloninger and their sons David and Derrik. And last but not least, her beloved cat Hook. Juanita Cloninger and George L. Batt preceded her in death. Roger and Launie would like to thank their customers for their loyal support and friendship over the last fifteen years. Launie will always be loved and profoundly missed by her husband, family, and friends. At the request of the family there will be no service. Please join our family in celebrating Launie’s life by sharing a memory in the guest book. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Pet Haven Animal Shelter or the charity of your choice.
