Laura Leigh Cawley

Laura Cawley, 64, of Springfield, IL passed away on December 11, 2023 after a hard fought battle. Laura was born on October 17, 1959 to Jack and Elaine Embry in Springfield, IL. When Laura’s girls, Trish (43) and Beth (37) were born, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and devoted mother. Laura excelled at propping up members of her family and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Laura was an avid reader and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found under a blanket reading or spending time with her grandchildren. She has left behind a large hole in our hearts and lives, and we will miss her greatly. Laura was predeceased by Elaine Embry (mother), John Embry (father), Karen Embry (sister-in-law). She is survived by Trish, Charlotte, and Caleb Welch (daughter, granddaughter, grandson), Beth, Jake and Owen Eldridge (daughter, son-in-law, grandson), and David, Katie and Daniel Embry (brother, niece, nephew).
