Donations in Laura’s memory may be made to KLove Radio or a charity of one’s choice. Tribute Loving Great-Grandmother, Grandmother, Mother, Daughter, Sister and friend to many, Laura Daphne Evans lived a wonderful life to the age of 85. Laura was born strong, into a family of seven children in St. John’s, Newfoundland, August 7, 1933. Her father (Sylvester) passed away at the age of 39, and her mother (Belinda) at age 68. Laura left school after the 3rd grade to help to support the family. Singing in the church choir in Newfoundland, Canada she met Tommy, an American in the Air Force, and they married on June, 1954 and had 3 girls. Fate took a tragic turn when Tommy was killed in a car accident at age 31 in 1962 leaving her with 3 children under the age of seven. She moved to Colorado to be close to her sister, Violet, where her love, courage and tenacity carried her through and she found a way to rise up and provide love and support for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Laura was an avid outdoors woman. She was loving and kind, fiercely independent, incredibly funny, outspoken, generous, a wonderful role model and so much more. She taught her family how to get up when knocked down, that love conquers fear and doubt, that courage is what you do when life beats you up, and that laughter is the sunshine needed when life is bleak. With her quick wit, she made a point to make sure the people around her laughed. She always looked at possibilities instead of obstacles, believed that she could do anything that she put her mind to, that living life on her own terms was the only way to live and that regrets are a waste of time. When a light as bright as Laura’s passes, it leaves a tear in one’s heart. Knowing that those who love us, never really leave us gives comfort and healing during times of loss. We feel them in our lives as we live fully, our hearts as we continue to love and in our spirits knowing that we will meet again. Daughter, Donna Evans
