Laura D. Hall

November 11th, 1947 - May 27th, 2023

A Home Going service for Laura Davis Hall, 75, of Pelion, will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the Mausoleum Chapel of Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. Pastor Edward Tager will officiate. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service in the Woodridge Chapel. Burial will follow the service in Woodridge Memorial Park. Mrs. Laura Hall passed away May 27, 2023 at her home. Born in Taliaferro County, GA, she was a daughter of the late James W. Davis, Jr. and Agnes Maude Byrd Davis. Growing up in Orangeburg County, she was a child who lovingly helped take care of her siblings until she graduated finishing school. She then went on to work at Baptist Hospital and Durr Filluer as a computer operator in their medical supplies warehouses. She started a small family of her own with Benny “Shorty” Hall, having her son, Jamie and daughter, Niki. She was a doting mother, grandmother, aunt and godmother to all those who crossed her path. She was unconditional in her love, spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren at every turn. Her favorite way to pass the time was sitting on the front porch of her home with her husband Shorty, playing a counting game to see how many airplanes flew above them. She also had the greenest thumb we had ever seen, and her home was filled with an assortment of plants she lovingly nurtured. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, and coloring with her grandchildren. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. Laura is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Benny Lee “Shorty” Hall; son, James "Jamie" Hall of Swansea; daughter, Laura "Niki" Malpass (Jason) of Pelion; grandchildren, Destanie Hall, Brittany Malpass (Parker), Cherika Hall, Logan Malpass, John "J.R." Malpass, Miranda Malpass, Mia Malpass; great grandchildren, Cayden and Eva; brothers, James S. Davis (Yvette), Harry Davis (Jimmie). Laura is also survived by a large and loving extended family. In addition to her parents, Laura was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Davis; her mother and father-in-law, Thurmond and Mary Hall; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Remell Sanders; brother-in-law, Howard Driggers.
