Laura Wilkens-Pohl Lindblad Laura, age 31, passed away June 16, 2012 in Olympia, Washington. She was born on July 31, 1980 to Gerald Everett Wilkens and Rebecca Ruth (Briggs) Wilkens in Puyallup, Washington. She grew up in Bonney Lake, Washington, and also lived in San Diego, California. Laura graduated with honors from Sumner High School in 1998, and was awarded a scholarship. She attended Bates Technical College and Pierce Community College. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Puget Sound. She recently was working on a master’s degree at St. Martin’s University. She married Paul Lindblad on June of 2002 in Puyallup, Washington. Laura was outgoing, friendly, and hard working. She was an excellent mother who adored her children; she even taught them classical music from the time they were in the womb. She ran 40 miles a week and also loved riding big motorcycles, snowboarding, and rock climbing. Professionally, Laura was a surgical nurse, currently working for Olympia Orthopaedic Associates. She is survived by her son, Paul August “Gus” Lindblad; daughter, Krysten Annaka Lindblad; parents, Jerry Wilkens of Yakima, and Rebecca and Jonathan Pohl of Bonney Lake, Washington; brothers, Jason Bouslaugh of Las Vegas, Nevada, Thomas Wilkens of Bonney Lake, Darrin Wilkens of Yakima, Washington, and Jeremy Wilkens of Yakima; sisters, Tracy Wilkens-Poirier of Yakima, and Trisha Wilkens of Yakima.
