Laura Beth Spooner

Obituary Laura Beth Spooner, age 54, of Fort Collins, CO, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Laura was born on April 8, 1968 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Ruth Gallow Spooner and Stanley Spooner. Lauras mother, Ruth, passed away in January 2017. Her father, Stanley, passed away in December of 2020. Laura graduated from Kalamazoo College in 1990 with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology. She was drawn to the beauty of Colorado in 1992 and made her home here. Laura had a deep affection for her family and friends and valued those she held close. Her sense of humor kept them laughing and she kept in touch with many great people from her journey through life. In her early years she trained in ballet, tennis and the piano, all while enjoying travelling the globe with her family. She enjoyed hiking, skiing, and being outdoors while living in Colorado. She was an avid reader, tabloid connoisseur, she was funny, charming, and she had a witty sarcastic humor that complimented her insightful intelligence beautifully. She was an impressive wealth of knowledge, a trivia guru, loved playing name that tune and had the most eclectic taste in music. Laura worked in Summit County and Fort Collins with various positions, most notably as a stained-glass artist and Corpsmember of the Larimer County Conservation Corps. Laura loved chatting about politics, jewelry creations, and whatever was happening in YOUR life. She was an active member of the Foothills Unitarian Universalist Church. Laura left behind her sweet and loving partner Kurt Johnson and their rescued furry menace, Dexter the Terrier. She is also survived by beloved cousins, Christy Gallow-Cramer (Mike), Robert Gallow (Wendy), Susan Sanchez (Marty), Ralph Gallow, Sarah Gallow-Young and Carrie Gallow. She has over 40 second and third cousins and took pride in and loved her giant family and their gatherings, especially the huge childhood Christmas and Easter celebrations.
