May 7th, 1948 - February 22nd, 2008
"South Hadley-Lauren J. (Harris) Scott, 59, of College St., passed away February 22, 2008 at Holyoke Medical Center. Born May 7, 1948 in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Laurie K. and Carmel (Grise) Harris. Lauren has lived in S.Hadley for almost 40 years, previously residing in Ware. She worked for 15 years at Spalding in their accounting department and was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church. Lauren was a member and took much enjoyment playing her baritone in the Belchertown and Chicopee Community Band. She cared for many girls while being a foster mother from 1990-2000. Lauren will be deeply missed by her children, her daughter Rebecca Scott of Malden and her son Charles Scott and his wife Kathleen and their children Zachery, Alexis, and Isabelle all of South Hadley. She also leaves a brother Clifford Harris of Ware and cousins Constance Cassanari, Charlene Shulman, Carol Gersten, Joe Grise and Terry Montgomery. A memorial mass will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, due to renovations at St. Theresa's Church. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home between 9-9:15 a.m. to travel in procession to the church. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story S.Hadley Funeral Home. Donations may be made in Lauren's memory to the Belchertown Community Band Inc., 280 Mill Valley Rd., Belchertown, MA 01007. "
