Laurentia "Lee" Dutka
April 21st, 1924 - March 29th, 2016
Laurentia (Lee) Dutka (nee Raitl) was born in Munich, Germany on April 21, 1924. Lee and Anton Dutka married in 1946. They emigrated to Cleveland, Ohio, USA in 1949. Lee became a citizen of the United States of which she was very proud. She worked as an accounting clerk at the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company (which eventually became First Energy Corp.) She retired in 1989 after working for them for 10 years. She and Tony retired to Rolls Landing in Port Charlotte. Tony, however, only had a short time in retirement and passed away October 1990. Lee became an avid volunteer at the St. Joseph Hospital beginning in 1991. She was also an active member of the Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club. She learned to play bridge and was an enthusiastic and competitive player. St. Charles Borromeo was always her church where she was an usher for numerous years. After Hurricane Charley destroyed her condo, Lee moved to South Port Square in Port Charlotte where she enjoyed 11 years. Lee is survived by her beloved nephew, Gernot Koelbl and his wife, Renate, in Munich, Germany, her good friends of 43 years, Greg and Susan Huning of Punta Gorda, Fl as well as her many friends at South Port Square.
