Laurilla Jane Mann
June 17th, 1929 - April 13th, 2014
Laurilla Jane Mann, 84 of Milliken, CO went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday evening at Hospice of Northern Colorado in Greeley after a full and productive life. She was born June 17, 1929 to James and Hattie (Smith) York in Loveland. CO. Jane grew up in the Milliken/Gilcrest area and graduated from Milliken High School in 1947, where she was elected prom queen, but only allowed to attend, if she was escorted by her brother Jim, who had just returned home on leave, from the Navy in WWII. On November 4, 1949 Jane married the love of her life, Richard W. Mann. In 1952 they moved to their farm in Platteville where they farmed for 10 years, before moving back to Milliken, where Richard began work at Great Western Sugar Company. Jane, as her family and friends know her, has a servant’s heart and her greatest love was her family. Jane was the cashier’s secretary at Great Western in Johnstown while still attending High School. Jane’s life revolved around raising her seven children. She was a stay at home mom until the youngest child started school, where she then took a secretarial position at Milliken Middle School. Jane retired in 1996 after 24 years, where she was loved by staff and students alike, for her compassion, insight, and wisdom. Jane also had a great love of music and sang in a double trio with some of her friends, in the family gospel group, One Way Street, and directed the choir and Children’s Church at the Milliken First Assembly of God for many years. Jane also enjoyed early morning walks with her soul sisters in Milliken. She is already missed. Know that she has been greeted by a multitude, which are enjoying her presence. Jane is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband, Richard, 92 of Milliken; her brothers, John (Verla) York of Lakewood, Bob (Wendy) York of Greeley, and Dan (Pat) York of Milliken; sisters, Lorraine Keenan of Colorado Springs and Carole Korshaven of California; five sons, Rick (Karen), Robert (Cassie), Randy (Kelly), Roger, and Russell (Kristin); two daughters, Norita (Glenn), and Rhonda (Mike); grandchildren, Michelle (Michael) Lupica, Rebecca (Matt) Loevenguth, Nikki Crider, John (Abby) Sherohman, Anna Sherohman, James Mann, Jurhee (Sean) Carroll, Jonathon Mann, Payton Hattie Mann, McKinlee Mann, and Wesley Allen Mann, Sarah Griess, Tristan Johnson, Grace and Janey Mann; great-grandchildren, James, Noah, Luke and Caleb, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded into heaven by her parents, James and Hattie York and brothers, Dick, Jack, Jim, and Gale York. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services. Services to celebrate Jane’s life will be April 17, 2014 at 11:30am at the Greeley First Assembly of God, 3000 W. 16th Street, with reception to follow. May the memories continue on the streets, meeting houses and parks in Milliken. Memorials may be made to "Hospice of Northern Colorado,” in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO, 80634. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.adamsonchapels.com.
