Lavonne E. Winchell
February 15th, 1921 - December 16th, 2013
Lavonne E. Winchell of Waukesha went to join her loving husband in Heaven on Monday, December 16, 2013, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 92 years. She was born in Barronett, Wisconsin on February 15, 1921, the daughter of Matt and Lena (Nee Olson) Arnes. She married the love of her life, Keith Arnold Winchell on March 9, 1946; they were happily married for 44 years. Lavonne had been employed for twenty one years at the Town & Country Super Market in Waukesha. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waukesha. Lavonne loved to golf, bowl, and play cards. She was an avid sports fan both Brewers and Packers. Lavonne is survived by her loving children; Kim (Mike) Winters, of Brookfield, WI, Greg (Jean) Winchell of Brandon, FL and Bruce (Cathy) Winchell of Florence, WI; grandchildren, Jason (Shelby) and Tim (Kristina) Winters, Stephanie, Jena, Emily (Brock) Payette, Kelsey, and Haley Winchell. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Keith A. Winchell and by sisters, Colista, Ruth, Mable,` Beatrice and Lavonne's twin sister, Avalon; brothers, Harry, Melvin, Barney, Sidney "Hans" and Lawrence "Fritz". The visitation for Lavonne will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service at First United Methodist Church, located at 121 Wisconsin Avenue, Waukesha, Wisconsin 53186. The Rev. Dan Schwerin will be officiating. Interment will take place immediately after the service at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial in honor of Lavonne may be given to The First United Methodist Church (please see address above) or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
