"It's not about the destination. It's about the journey." Lawrence Fredrick "Larry" Boudrie, 10, ended his journey on May 15, 2018. And what a journey it was. Larry was born to Merle and Dorothy (Sherman) Boudrie on November 23, 1937 in Findley, Ohio. He graduated from North Baltimore High School where he met his forever love, Joyce. They married in 1957. He attended Bowling Green State University and the Wharton School of Business. After serving in the US Army, his career spanned from "Repo Man" to Director of Finance for Harris Corporation. He traveled to more than 40 countries and loved to share stories of his travel which included dining with royals, walking the Great Wall of China and escaping a country in the middle of military coup. Larry also started his own business, Worldwide Finance where he worked with a variety of well known companies. His biggest passion was his commitment to his community and church. This included coaching a variety of sports and most recently (2004) founding the Shepherd Center Beachside adult learning program. He was an active member of the Ascension Lutheran Church and served as Council President at one point. Larry leaves behind his wife, Joyce: daughters Victoria Conway (Thomas) and Kimberly Boudrie (Robert Misko); brother Jeff Boudrie and 2 grandchildren (Britt and Ryan Conway). He is preceded by his granddaughter (AJ Boudrie). Visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 25 from 5-7pm at Beach Funeral Home (Indian Harbour Beach). A memorial service will be held, Saturday May 26 at 10:00 am at Ascension Lutheran Church (Indian Harbour Beach). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to Ascension Lutheran to fund their new roof drive.
