Mr. Lawrence “Larry” A. Angelo, 79, of Amsterdam, passed away on Monday April 20, 2020 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY. Born in Amsterdam, NY on March 23, 1941 a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Calisant D’Angelo. He was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and attended local schools. Early on in his life he was employed by GE in Schenectady followed by working for the Teamsters Union Local #294 in Albany. Upon his retirement he drove cab in the city of Amsterdam. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, football, fitness, horse racing and going to the casino with his wife Mary. He married Mary R. Amendola Angelo on May 14th, 1966. In addition to his beloved wife he is survived by his children, Laurie (Jean) Garand, Michael (Heidi) Angelo, Susan Angelo and Amy Angelo. One brother, Thomas (Linda) Angelo, one sister, Mary (Robert) Simons. Cherished grandchildren, Gabriella, Alexandra, Juliana, Anthony and Maria. A great-granddaughter Luciana. Nieces, nephew and cousins also survive. Larry was a member of the former St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY.
