Lawrence A. Cass
April 8th, 1948 - October 3rd, 2010
Larry Cass D.C. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 18th in Capitola, for Larry Cass who passed away at his Soquel home with dignity and courage, following a 10 year struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was 62 years old. Born in Eureka, California, his career in chiropractic care spanned over 25 years. His office was located on Saratoga Avenue in San Jose, and he retired in 2000 to enjoy his hobbies. A talented wood crafter and stained glass designer, Larry created many beautiful works of art . He and his wife, Liz were avid gardeners and many fond memories will be cherished of his love for growing beautiful flowers and vegetables. Larry and Liz were active parishioners of St. Joseph's Catholic Community in Capitola, and volunteered in the church's R.C.I.A. program. The church's nativity scene is adorned every year with the stained glass star that Larry created and gave to St. Joseph's. His many talents, generous giving spirit, and the care that he had for his patients, were of great importance to him; but the love for his family and the time he was able to spend with them, will always be remembered as his greatest gift. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Liz Cass and his son, Jonathan Cass, both of Soquel. He also leaves his two sisters, Leslie Gams of Sunnyvale, and Leigh Cass of Santa Clara; nephews: Tom and Chris Nieto, and John Michael Mullen; nieces, Eileen Dill, Joanne Heredia, and Caroline Scott. Larry was preceded in death by his son David , and his brother and sister, Lynn and Nancy. The mass will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (435 Monterey Ave) in Capitola, beginning at 10 a.m. Any kind acts of charity may be made in Larry's name to Hospice of Santa Cruz County or through your prayers and mass offerings.
