Lawrence "Larry" Connell

Connell, Larry of Sun City Center (formally Seminole), passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on Thursday, January 3rd at the age of 83. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lorraine Connell; his four daughters, Diana Connell, Durlene (DJ) Hurm, Denise (Bob) Johnson and Donna (Ron) Burkey; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas Thompson, Erin (Teddy) Winter, Bruce (Kelly) Power, Morgan and Tyler Kovel and 9 great children, along with his sister, Ella Kelly and several nieces and nephews. Larry was born on February 2nd, 1935 in St. Pete FL. He graduated from Clearwater High School in 1954 and enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He married his high school sweetheart, Lorraine in 1954. After completing his service with the Marine Corps, he began working for Honeywell Aerospace in Clearwater FL, where he spent 32 years before retiring as a Sr. Program Manager. Larry loved old cars and sports. He was one of the most generous people you could ever meet, never knowing a stranger and if you stopped to talk cars, sports or the Florida Gators, you had a forever friend. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 10:30 A.M with a memorial service at 11:30 A.M on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Anderson McQueen Funeral home 2201 Dr MLK St N, St Petersburg, FL with a reception to follow.
