Jacquelyn

Lincoln logs, the smell of a pipe, fresh squeezed orange juice, putting pennies on the train tracks, watching the sun rise at the beach and my first limo ride are some of the things that are forever engraved in me. The way you looked at me every time we got together was with so much love and joy. I will miss your laugh and you rubbing your bald head. I know the cancer is gone and your memory is restored and you are not suffering any more I also know you are planting a beautiful rose garden in heaven with every rose dedicated to your grandchildren. I love you Grandaddy.

Bruce McAlister

Candle lit by Bruce McAlister What can a son say about his Dad? He taught me how to hit a baseball and catch. He took me and five siblings camping all over Southern California, leaving either late at night or crazy early in the morning so we could have wake up to new and amazing places... except maybe crystal lake!!! He stopped to pick up a man, woman and infant hitchhiker while we were driving home from Oklahoma. They were dirt poor and Dad got him a job and them an apartment. As a boy I'd walk in his wake and everyone would shake his hand or nod and smile. I learned a lot in that wake. He was a kind and generous man and I strive to be the same.

Pat

I looked up to you as a child. The most important lessons being: trips to National Parks in the western US, giving me a deep appreciation of nature; building and making electronic things in the garage-even one of the first you-build-it Radio Shack computers, not to mention all the important things at TRW; and to learn about many things so I can talk to all kinds of people. In the last 10 years or so I have been deeply touched by your courage to make things right with me and your devoted daddy-nish as I faced ongoing challenges. I am so glad you are my dad. I will miss you very much. You are in my heart.
