Lawrence Neil Olson, 82, of Payette, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at a local assisted living facility of natural causes. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Condolences may be made to Neil's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Neil was born Jan. 10, 1933 to Alvin and Nellie Olson in Klamath Falls, OR. He graduated from Klamath High School and worked on his Uncle's ranch until he met the love of his life, Bettie. Neil and Bettie soon moved to San Luis Obispo, CA where he received his B.S. in Animal Husbandry. Neil had a varied work life - working for Armor Meats in California and Colorado, ranching in Idaho, and he retired after 11 years teaching 6th grade in Payette, ID. He was always a cowboy and loved to hunt and fish and camp with his family. He will be remembered for his close walk with God, his loving ways and being a great husband, father, and grandfather. Neil is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bettie; daughter, Lynn (Coke) Smith of Prosser, WA; three sons, Dale (Karen) of Ennis, MT, Dan (Lisa) of New Meadows, ID, Bret (Heidi) of Fruitland; and eight grandchildren.
