Lawrence "Larry" Richard Sagneri
December 31st, 1955 - October 7th, 2024
"I am in Heaven, dear ones; Oh so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over; every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, safely home in heaven at last"
Lawrence "Larry" Richard Sagneri, age 68, entered eternal life on October 7, 2024 in Parker, Colorado.
Larry was born on December 31, 1955 in Fulton, New York. He grew up in Liverpool, New York, where he excelled in sports playing baseball at a young age and wrestling in high school. During his senior year of high school in 1973, Larry met the love of his life, Carol, and the two were married in 1976. He graduated from Onondaga Community College then went on to attend Rochester Institute of Technology and became a Chemical Engineer. Throughout his career, Larry’s dedication and skill took him around the world, from China to Australia.
Larry and Carol built a fulfilling life together, raising a family and living in various states, including New York, California, Indiana, Texas, and finally settling in Colorado. Above all, Larry was a devoted and caring husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend – he was a family man, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
One of Larry’s great joys was making wine, and in 1990, his "Sagneri Estate Blush" was a Gold Medal winner at the New York State Fair. Furthermore, Larry was passionate about the Boy Scouts of America, and volunteered as a leader for his son’s troop for several years. In his free time, Larry also enjoyed hiking, camping, hunting, and cooking Italian food.
In 2012, Larry was diagnosed with Early-Onset Alzheimer's disease. He lived in a memory care home in Parker, Colorado for the last 16 months of his life. Despite his perseverance, it was heartbreaking for family and friends to witness his decline. While in memory care, his wife spent every day with him. His family loved visiting and taking him for walks - Larry’s family was by his side during his final days, creating memories and cherishing their time together.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Sagneri. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years: Carol Sagneri; children: Aaron Sagneri, Amy (Brad) Jackson; grandchildren: Riley and Colby Jackson; mother: Francis Sagneri; and siblings: Joseph (Sandy) Sagneri, Mary Cosco, Michael Sagneri, Paul (Lisa) Sagneri, in addition to many loving nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) to help in the fight against Alzheimer’s, in Larry’s honor.
A Memorial Mass will be held in Larry's memory at Ave Maria Catholic Church (9056 E Parker Rd, Parker, CO 80138) on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 12:00 PM, followed by a luncheon reception.
