Lee Halverson
March 20th, 1953 - November 7th, 2015
Grover Levi Halverson, most commonly known as Lee, died Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the St Vincent Providence Hospital in Portland, Oregon. He was 62 years old. He leaves behind his four children; Rebecca, Brian, Matthew and Christine; his six siblings Ron, Barbara, Nancy, Joan, Wesley and Thenda; and his two grandchildren Peyton and Emma. Lee was born in Leader, Minnesota on March 20, 1953 to Harvey Halverson and Myrtle Beals. He was raised in Minnesota where he later married and moved to Yakima, Washington and became the owner of an Apple Orchard. It was here that his first daughter, Rebecca, was born. He later moved his family back to Minnesota where he became a Dairy Farmer. Here, Lee and his ex-wife Sharon, gave birth to their three other children; Brian, Matthew and Christine. He took on a job working for the United States Postal Service in Minnesota in 1990. Due to health problems of his children, they sold the Dairy farm and moved to Amity, Oregon and Lee transferred to work as a Mail Carrier for the Postal Service in Newberg, Oregon. Lee always had a passion for Farming and Ranching. He had a hobby farm raising cattle at their home in Amity for many years. In 2009, he and his son Matthew purchased some acreage outside of Dallas, Oregon where Lee fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a Cattle Ranch. He started Teal Creek Cattle Ranch where he specialized in renting out Hereford bulls and raising cattle. He loved sports, specifically Football and Baseball. He was a regular at Amity Football, Baseball and Softball games that his kids played in and he always watched the NFL on Sundays. He also enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. Lee was an avid hunter for many years dating back to his days in Minnesota. He and his sons spent many years hunting together on their property in Amity and Dallas. A funeral service will be held November 16, 2015 -1 :00pm at the Hubbard Cemetery on the property of Teal Creek Cattle Ranch in Dallas, Oregon.
