Lee Hart
July 31st, 1939 - August 10th, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lee Hart on Aug 10th, 2024.
Lee was born to Theodore and Jean (Gill) Olsen in Horseshoe Bend, ID on July 31, 1939.
Lee graduated from Horseshoe Bend High school and went to work as a bank teller and secretary. It is there she met Dick Hart, the love of her life. Dick and Lee were married on August 20, 1960, at Parma, Idaho, and would have celebrated 64 years of marriage this year.
As Dick’s work in the banking industry took him all over Oregon they began to start a family. They added their son Gregg first, followed by daughter Lisa and finally son, Steve. Lee dedicated herself to raising her family wherever they went, until they settled back in the Treasure Valley area in 1976, where she happily remained for the rest of her life.
Lee loved bargains and thoroughly enjoyed going to yard sales, which she thought of as a competitive sport. She got so good at finding treasures, which she loved to share with her family and friends, that she started to host them. Lee loved keeping an immaculate yard and she, along with Dick, worked tirelessly on keeping theirs pristine.
What Lee loved the most was her family and friends, and the time spent with them. She enjoyed baking and sharing with everyone close to her. Lee's family awaited those Christmas packages that were hand delivered or would arrive in the mail every year with homemade candies, just to remind them of ‘Mom.’ Lee kept in close contact with all her kids no matter how far away they lived and would regularly check up on them. Lee cherished the little things in life, her Sunday maple bars with Steve, her daily phone calls with daughter Lisa, and the advice she always received from Gregg. She loved visiting with all her family and looked forward to calls from her grandkids, nieces, nephews and friends.
Lee thoroughly enjoyed Dick’s annual trips to the Winnemucca, NV bull sale. She could often be found playing on the penny or nickel slot machines. If she won even a few dollars it was as if she’d struck gold.
Lee was preceded in death by her father and mother Theodore and Jean Olsen, brothers Ralph, Ron and Ken Olsen and her youngest son, Steve Hart. The loss of Steve was especially hard for her, and in those dark times she leaned on Dick, Gregg and Lisa more than ever. Lee is survived by her loving husband Dick Hart, son Gregg and daughter Lisa (Damien). 8 Grandchildren: Josh (Andra) Hickey, Mitch (Emily) Hickey, Ryan (Tosha) Hickey, Tyler, Jared and Anniston Harr, McKenzie and Haley Hart. Lee had six great grandchildren, Sawyer, August, Cooper, Kimberly, Oscar and Jonathan Hickey.
Graveside service will be held at Hilltop Cemetery in Nyssa, Oregon at 11 am on August 29th. There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Elks Lodge in Ontario Oregon on August 29th from 1-3 pm.
