Lee Sherwood
December 29th, 1927 - August 7th, 2022
Obituary Mr. Lee Sherwood went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 7, 2022, in Monument, Colorado. He moved from death unto life from complications related to Frontotemporal Dementia. He was 94 years young, and is survived by two children, Michael and Alice. Lee was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 71 years, Norma J. [Knight] Sherwood in 2018. Mr. Sherwood was born December 29, 1927 in Wichita Falls to Frank Marion Sherwood and Lena [Cass] Sherwood. He was the youngest of 7 children. He loved horseback riding and he and Norma met through this venue in high school. Later in life they enjoyed traveling the US in their RV. Lees occupation was the North Texas oil and gas industry and he was the co-owner of Pump Equipment Company of Wichita Falls. He and Norma were founding members of Grace Church of Wichita Falls. They attended Grace Church until they moved to the Texas Hill Country town of Kerrville, TX. They later moved to the Rocky Mountain town of Monument, CO in 2012 to live with their daughter. In 1987, Lee was part of a group of like-minded Christian families who worked together to obtain a license and funding for a start-up Christian Radio station KMOC 89.5 FM, which is still faithfully broadcasting Gods Word today. Lee was also an Elder, Sunday school teacher, and a man of God, shepherding the families of Grace Church from the 1960s to the late 1980s. Lee was the father of two children, Michael K. Sherwood and spouse LaDonnah of Forestburg, TX., and Alice E. (Sherwood) Rouse and spouse Darren of Monument, CO. Memorial services for Mr. Sherwood are pending and will be determined at a later date. Services are under the direction of Cappadona Funeral Home, Colorado Springs, CO. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the following three Christian ministries: Services You can still show your support by sending flowers directly to the family, or by planting a memorial tree in the memory of Lee Sherwood
