Leo Adolphe Saenz
October 22nd, 1940 - February 15th, 2023
Leo Adolfo Saenz went to be with the Lord on February 15th, 2023. He was born October 22nd, 1940 and was 83 years old. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Victoriana Burkholder and her husband Paul Burkholder; his biological father, Leo T. Saenz; his granddaughter, Erika Yanni; his grandson, Matthew Yanni; his beloved aunt Mary T. Montoya, and his beloved aunt, Annie Chavez; his uncle Johnny Sandoval; his uncle Seferino Pera, his aunt Ella Pera; his cousin Alice White; his cousin Bobby Lovato; and his cousin Randy Perea. He is survived by his beloved wife, Esther Saenz and her two sons, Ricardo Sanchez and Joseph Sancez; his biological son, Tim Saenz and his wife Teri; son Anthoney Saenz; daughter Luanne Yanni; the mother of his children, Rosalie Saenz; granddaughter, Ashley Ellis; cousins Jeanette Rich, Clifford Farfaran, and Mara Millsap; and 6 great-grandchildren. Leo graduated from McCurdy High School in 1958 and was an all state football player. He attended the University of New Mexico and then joined the Navy where he served as an x-ray technician in the Medical Corp. He continued to work in the x-ray field for the next 50 plus years not only in the medical field but in the industrial field as well. He was a sports enthusiast and loved the Rams. Leo loved animals and he especially loved dogs and is therefore survived by his two dogs; Sabrina and Ebony. He not only loved to laugh but he would have a 'joke of the day' to make others laugh as well. He loved God, his family, and his country and he will be greatly missed. There will be a visitation and celebration of his life on Tuesday, March 7th from 9:00 to 10:45 AM in the Chapel at Riverside Funeral Home located at 225 San Mateo NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He will then be interred March 7th at 12:30 PM with full military services at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
