Byron, GA; Mr. Leo Walthers, 90, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011 in the Heart of Georgia Hospice, Perry, GA. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 22nd, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Leo was born on January 19th, 1921 to the late Mr. Charles and Leah Harburger Walthers. Leo enlisted in the United States Navy on November 14th, 1940 and served his country honorably for twenty-three years as an Aviation Ordinance Chief and he also retired from civil service as a procurement officer at Robins, Air Force Base. Leo was a member of the American Legion and the Georgia Aircraft Modelers Association. Leo was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Elizabeth Walthers. Leo is survived by his Daughter, Nancy Gary Fransioli of Byron, GA; Grandsons, Tony Fransioli of Warner Robins, Dusty Kim Fransioli; Great Grandson, Dylan Fransioli and Great Granddaughter Sierra Fransioli of Centerville, GA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
