Lewis, L. Roger 87 passed away Tuesday February 20, 2018. He was born on January 9, 1931, in Wethersfield Connecticut. Son of Leon and Ruth Lewis. Roger was one of four children, Richard, Virginia & Marilyn. While a youth in Connecticut Roger enjoyed playing soccer and Summer sailing on Lake Hayward. The family move to St. Petersburg upon completing his Junior year of High School. He became a graduate of both SP High and SPJC. Roger met his future wife Clodagh Greene while the families were members of United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. Upon returning home Roger married Clodagh on June 1, 1957. They had two children together Laura and David. They built a Vacation home in Franklin North North Carolina. Where the family enjoyed many Summers in the Smokey Mountains, Cherokee, Asheville and Highlands. He enjoyed coaching and donating time with Azalea Little League. Roger was a building contractor building homes in the Pinellas County area for over 45 years. He built well over 300 homes in areas such as Thurston Groves, Traditions, Windsor Woods and Caya Costa where He and his wife then resided for over 27 years. Roger is survived by his wife of over 60 years Clo, his son David, grandson Brett, great grandson Caymen, sister Marilyn Harris,son-in-law Joe Cartier, daughter Laura Cartier preceded him in passing. Roger was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease 10 years ago. Participating in the Rock Steady Boxing program at Cypress Palms ACLF was a twice weekly event for Roger this past year, Thank you Ian and Leah. Roger battled Parkinson's disease as long as his body allowed. Thank you to all the family and friends that visited and comforted Roger over the last month while he was in the hospital followed by hospice. In closing No one didn't like Roger, he was fun, he always had a smile with a great laugh to accompany it. He will be missed greatly by his immediate family, loving extended family members, friends and business associates.
