Leona C. Padilla

Leona C. Padilla, 47, born in Espanola NM on March 18, 1972 was called home to be with our Lord on Sunday, November 24, 2019 with her loved ones by her side. She's preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Serafin and Adelina Barela. Maternal grandparents Jose and Margarita Baca. Uncles Raymond, Juan and Nino Baca and Thomas Chacon. Aunts Susie, Bernie and Ruby Baca. Nephews Robert and Adolfo Chavez and Kaleb Rivera. Sister in laws Gloria and Debbie Padilla and Cindy Chavez. She is survived by the love of her life of 26 years, Robert Chavez, her daughters Desiree Chavez (Daniel Cordova), Renee Chavez (Luke Velasquez) and Hailey Cordova, her only grandchild who was her pride and joy. Leona is also survived by her parents, Leo and Berlina Padilla. Siblings, Connie (Ronnie), Carl (Ashley), Angelo (Marsha), April (Norman) Leo Jr (Audrey) and Max (Brandy). Her favorite cousins Michael and Freddy Baca, best friends Joe Quintana, Vanessa and Cindy Martinez. Nino and Nina Trinny and Jane Rael, brother in laws Joel (Myra), Gabriel, Leroy and Bobby Chavez, as well as other family and friends. Ms. Padilla's greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughter. She enjoyed her New Mexican music, picking pinon, cooking, cleaning, cruising, taking care of her loved ones and loved being around her dogs Roudy and Pebbles. She left a huge impact on whoever she met, her door was always opened to anyone, no matter the time. You never left her house on an empty stomach, whether it was her famous tortillas, enchiladas, taco fries, potatoes, spaghetti or chicken. Leona will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held on December 14, 2019 at 10:00am at the Victory Faith Church. She will be laid at her final resting place at The Sacred Heart Cemetery immediately following her celebration of life. The family of Leona C.
