GERAGE, Leonard Paul, “Mr. G”, 71, of Land O’ Lakes, FL passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015. He was born in Chicago, IL and moved to FL in 1994. Mr. G. taught inner city children and he believed in helping children rise above their environment. In many cases, he saved their lives by guiding them on to the right path in life and to make better choices. He retired as a school teacher in the woodworking shop classes. Mr. G. enjoyed raising and breeding birds and horses, refurbishing antiques, reupholstering furniture and boat interiors. He sang and played the accordion. Mr. G. is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Phyllis and sisters, Celia and Frances. He is survived by Nicholas and Charles Gerage; Phyllis Anderson; longtime companion. Sherry Hickman; good friends, Dennis and Chris (Carmella) Dismuke and numerous family members. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
