Leroy Brodie

Leroy (Roy) Brodie, 84, of Valley Center, died September 28, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 11, at 11 a.m. at Clairemont Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2610 Galveston St., San Diego, CA 92110. Roy passed away surrounded by his family at the Veterans Home of California, Chula Vista. Roy enlisted into the U.S. Navy in 1951 as a Surgical Technician where he served his country for 30 years. He earned a Bachelor Degree in both Computer Science and Business Administration as well as a Masters Degree in Business Administration, Financial Management while serving in the military. He retired as a Chief Hospital Corpsman working at Balboa Hospital as a Corpsman School Instructor. After retiring from the Navy in 1980, Roy continued his federal service working for the Naval Public Works Center as a Management Analyst for 15 years. Roy was a dedicated and supportive father and friend. He is survived by his former wife, Sylvia Brodie, daughters, Sharon Clemens (husband Dale), Eileen Dameron (husband Joseph), Amanda Holder (husband Chip) and Jacqueline Brodie (husband Rolf) as well as his grandchildren Alexis, Austin, Wesley and Jared, and nieces, Pamela and Bonnie. He is preceded in death by his parents Rhoda and Dudley and sister Gertrude.
