Aspen Mortuaries - Lakewood
Leslie Anne Coffman
July 15th, 1931 - July 17th, 2020
Leslie Anne Coffman passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 17th, 2020 after suffering a stroke and battling Parkinson's Disease for 10 years. She was born in The Dalles, Oregon July 15th, 1931. In 1949, she married Joseph Shields Coffman, and they were married 60 years until his death in 2009. They lived in California, Oregon, Canada, and Idaho, and spent summers camping in Montana and Canada for Joseph's field work with the Bureau of Mines. Spokane, Washington was their home for many years before they settled in Wheat Ridge, Colorado in 1976. Leslie is survived by all seven children: Damon Coffman [Virginia] of Corallis, Oregon; Christopher [ Gayle] Coffman of Bellevue, Washington; Samuel Coffman [Suchil] of San Antonio, Texas; Miriam Cheney [Eric] of Hillsboro, Oregon; Rachel Thompson of Jacksonville, Florida; Catherine Battaglia [Paul] of Lakewood Colorado; and Suzanne Coffman Hergenreter [Kyle] of Lakewood, Colorado; ten grandchildren and two siblings. Leslie was a homemaker extraordinaire. Her beautiful home was an expression of her aesthetic gifts and love for her family: an entire wall in her great room displayed artistically framed photos of her children. An avid gardener, she spent hours in her expansive yard, growing food for her family through the years, planting trees, and tending to the myriad flowers that bloomed under her care. She remodeled two homes. She was a volunteer usher at the Denver Center for Performing Arts, a volunteer at Hudson Gardens, a member of Lakewood Presbyterian Church and Wheat Ridge Presbyterian Church, an adventurous, energetic woman who enjoyed fine wines, reading voraciously with her Bodacious Bookclub friends, and being surrounded by those she loved most: her children and grandchildren.
