Leslie "Tojo" Purvis Jr.

Obituary Leslie "Tojo" Purvis, Jr., 77, of Lexington, Kentucky and husband of Shelby J. Purvis, died Sunday, June, 26, 2011. A native of Lexington, he was born on May 7, 1934, to the late Mary York and Leslie Purvis, Sr. Leslie was a delivery driver for KOI Auto Parts for 21 years, he was also the Chief of the Volunteer Firefighters in Lexington, where he was known as "Tojo". Leslie was also of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Weir and Deborah Purvis, both of Nicholasville; grandchildren, April Day, Katie Rardin and Chris Van Hook; great grandchildren, Kayla Van Hook, Michael Van Hook, Morgan Day, Lailee Davis and Brielle Franklin; and good friend, William Van Hook. Leslie was preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Rardin. Funeral Information Private services are being planned for a later date.
