Lester "Les" M. Palangi, Jr.

Lester M. Palangi, Jr., 81, of Deptford, New Jersey, passed away peacefully with family on Friday, June 17, 2022. Legacy He was raised in Northeast Philadelphia and graduated from Frankford High School. Lester was a proud member of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War, and continuing as a Reservist until retiring in 2001. Les attended Drexel University and later attended Camden County College where he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. Les resided in Deptford, NJ where he raised his three wonderful children. Lester was a member of the IEEE, member of Knights of Columbus at St. Agnes Church, Colonial Manor American Legion Post #100 and was the Department Vice Commander for 2008 of the American Legion. He most recently served as DEC of Gloucester County and was on the Gloucester County Veterans Advisory Board. He enjoyed collecting stamps, fishing, working on cars, and restoring his 1974 Land Rover. He also loved “Squeezing” bottles of whiskey. “Fair Winds and Following Seas” Family He is the beloved husband of Carol I. Palangi (nee Harow). Devoted father of Karen Young (Jameson), Susan Palangi (Patrick), and Michael Palangi. Adored Pop Pop of Ally, Jamey, Madison, Makayla and the late Brian. Treasured great Pop Pop to Mia. Son of the late Elizabeth and Lester M. Palangi, Sr. Dear brother of Barbara Grygo (late James) and Richard Palangi (Joanne). He will be missed by family and friends. Farewell Tribute Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, June 27th from 9:00AM to 11:00AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096.
