Lewis McCoy Kiger
October 6th, 1935 - August 6th, 2022
Lewis McCoy Kiger, 86, of Winston-Salem, NC went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 6, 2022. A native of Forsyth County, NC, Lewis was the husband of the late Shelby Farrington Kiger and the son of Ernest McCoy Kiger and Mary Magdalene Carter Kiger, both deceased. Lewis retired as manager from National Linen Services after 35 years of service. He was an avid golfer for over 40 years. Lewis also, had a passion for bird watching; his favorite birds to watch were humming birds and finches. He enjoyed monthly trips with his sisters, and Daddy/Daughter fishing trips. Lewis was known for and loved making people laugh. He will be truly missed by all that knew him. Survivors include his loving daughter and caregiver, Beverly Hauser of Winston-Salem; son, Barry Kiger of Winston-Salem; granddaughter, Charity Hauser of Thomasville, NC; grandsons, Brandon and Dillon Kiger; nine great grandchildren, Tanner, Haven, Hope, Haylie, Johnson, Shelby, Ella, Braxton, Ava, and Dax; and three sisters, Helen Roland of Shelby, NC, Jane George (Bobby), and Martha Motsinger (Butch), both of Winston-Salem, NC. In addition to his wife and parents, Lewis was preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Allyssa Barley; brother, Ralph Kiger, Sr.; and sister, Judy Eller. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 12:00PM Thursday, August 11, 2022, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Shelby Harbour officiating. Interment will follow at the Glenn View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 11:00AM to 11:45AM on Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home. Friends and family may view, and sign the guestbook at www.Pierce-JeffersonFuneralService.com In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Center Wellness Home Health Care for their love, support, and care for Mr. Kiger during his illness.
