Lewis E. Laird

Laird, Lewis Elmer Died in Denton, TX on February 5, 2011. He was born February 5, 1919 in Walton County, Florida, the third of eight children of Lewis Edward Laird and Mical Rebecca Howell. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Louise, a daughter, Gretchen Craig of Denton, TX, son Keith Laird of St. Petersburg; 5 grandchildren, David, Kathy, Amy, Ben, and Jeff; 9 great grandchildren, Tabitha, Anna, Nathan, Brendan, Jacob, Justin, Alexander, Bryon and Kalynn, and a brother, Herbert Laird of Austin, TX. Lewis and Louise lived in St. Petersburg during WW II and again from 1955 until 2005, when they relocated to Denton, TX. Lewis spent a career in the food service business, and worked at Webb's City in St. Petersburg for 25 years, where he managed the soda fountain and cafeteria and served on the company's board of directors. A memorial service will be held Saturday morning, February 12 at 11:00 AM at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. M. L. King Jr. St N.
