Lillian Marie Congleton Hingsbergen Allega
October 26th, 1922 - March 17th, 2017
Lillian ""Marie"" Congleton Hingsbergen Allega, 94, Indianapolis, went home to be with her Lord on March 17, 2017. Marie was born October 26, 1922 in Knox County, Kentucky to the late Walter and Dora Congleton. She was a lifelong Indianapolis resident until she retired from Indiana National Bank, when she and her husband Austin moved to Venice, Florida where she lived out the remainder of her life. She was a devout Catholic and attended Our Lady of Lourdes in Venice, Florida. Mrs. Allega was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and in 1992 she wrote a book on the history of the Congleton family entitled: William Congleton-Kentucky Pioneer. She was a strong woman with an endless supply of love, was always thinking of others first, and had a great sense of humor. She was the rock of our family. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Francis A. Hingsbergen, second husband, Austin E. Allega, daughter, Diana Kilbride, son, Richard Hingsbergen, sisters, Pauline Hightower, Hazel Loscomb, brothers, Charles Bufford ""Boots"" Congleton and Isaac Congleton. Survivors include her twin daughters, Jean Brown (Tom) and Joan Nichols (Roy), stepdaughters, Ellen Allega, Sara Stewart, Jeanne Schaefer(Steve), and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Arrangements will be made at: Farley Funeral Home and Crematory, 265 South Nokomis Ave. Venice, FL 34285. A mass will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1301 Center Rd, Venice, FL 34292. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: Tidwell Hospice Care House 210 Wexford Blvd., Venice. FL. 34293. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
